No Prayer Too Small & Weak

Dear Friends & Supporters,

Before I tell you two incidents that God had encouraged me, please pray for my support raising. I will be taking leave to raise funds to clear the deficit of $1,798 in my support account this month, for the additional monthly needs of $800, and also for my wedding allowance.

Here's the first encouraging encounter:
A month ago, my disciple from Republic Polytechnic, Nethanel, had a spiritual conversation with his Malaysia roommate, Eng Lee. Seeing Eng Lee's immense interest in Christianity, Nethanel arranged for me to share more with Eng Lee. Very simply, I shared the Chinese "Four Spiritual Laws" booklet with Eng Lee. And after more than a hour of interaction, he received Christ into his life. So far Eng Lee joined in my current discipleship group for bible study for two sessions. Eng Lee also expressed interest to join my church since his heart language is Chinese, but he goes back to JB on weekends. However, Eng Lee is willing to make adjustment to his schedule and will be coming to my church next Sunday.

The other encouraging encounter:
While walking to Republic Polytechnic (RP) where I would be sharing a message, suddenly I remembered the two EveryStudent.com website female contacts who emailed me they wanted to join Campus Crusade for Christ. One is called Jocelyn who is from a private school. So I channeled Jocelyn to join RP Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) since she lived near Woodlands area. The other girl is a 3rd year RP student called Jaslyn. Right after the two contacts joined RPCCC, there was a few weeks of semester break.

I was thinking if Jocelyn and Jaslyn were "lost" after these few weeks. But I prayed to God, "I hope to see them (Jocelyn & Jaslyn) again". And lo and behold, when I stepped into the lecture theatre where the ministry gathering is, I saw Jaslyn and Jocelyn seated together. Wow!! God actually answered a prayer so weak and small. The best to come was when Jaslyn knew of my follow up bible study with Eng Lee, she said excitedly, "Can I join your Chinese bible study?" When asked why join my bible study, my heart exploded with joy at Jaslyn's strange request... she wanted to know how to share the gospel to her parents in Chinese. Praise the Lord!!!

Prayer Requests:
Pray for good follow up with Eng Lee.
Pray that God will provide new supporters to for my monthly financial needs and the wedding allowance.
Pray for wisdom to lead the mission trip to Fuzhou from 29th Nov - 9th Dec.

Parting The Red Sea

As I cashed out $500 today from the ATM, my heart was filled with thanksgiving. I was able to bring home the monthly contribution. God is faithful.

It was stressful period of thinking where to find new supporters. I was in the "RED" (a deficit in my staff support account). But thankfully, God used the loving responses of some church mates to give generously to my ministry when they knew I'm raising more for the housing allowances and salary increment.

Please continue to pray for me as I'm still trusting God to find the following numbers of new supporters for $920 monthly:
(A) 3 persons to contribute $100 monthly each / one time gift of $1,200
(B) 4 persons to contribute $50 monthly each / one time gift of $600
(C) 14 persons to contribute $30 monthly each / one time gift of $360

Thank you for your prayers and support.

If You Miss My Last Email Newsletters (July 2008)

Dear Supporters & Friends,

Thanksgiving:
We were advised strongly NOT to ROM at our church wedding because Irene's father is unlikely to step into the church. We prayed and asked God that He would soften the heart of Irene's father, and willing to walk Irene down the aisle to give her daughter in marriage to me.

To our surprise, he said YES! I repeated the request to Irene's father, and he said it was okay, and he understood it. Praise the Lord! My mum and Irene's third aunt was there also to discuss about the wedding preparation with Irene's father. So hearing from his mouth, Irene's aunt said nothing of dissuading us not to ROM at the church wedding. Now we can move on quickly to prepare for our wedding.

Prayer Requests:
I had requested to shorten the loan payment period for the current flat (Woodlands) to 5 years, and then Irene and I will purchase a new flat. We are trying to apply for a new flat under the BTO scheme, and pray that our application is possible even my name stays in the current flat for the next 5 years.
Finding new supporters to raise wedding allowance and monthly support.

Financial Needs:
- $6,000 each for our wedding allowance from now till May.
- Another $1,050 monthly for the following purposes:
- $200/mth for housing allowance because of repaying current flat loan
- $250/mth for the CSU conference & leaders equipping in July 2009
- $200/mth for the salary increment to meet the rising costs of living

Virtually-Led Movement Unconference

What's that?
In a nutshell, it was a gathering of 20 student leaders and staff meeting in a non-conference style where we centered on the theme of using the Internet and mobile technology to reach out to every student and the world.

How did it go?
It was the very first attempt to create awareness of the virtually-led movement potentially exploring into numerous opportunities to to share their faith. The students did have good ideas to use blogs, post videos, forums, social networking sites e.g. facebook etc, but i hope that they can think much further into the possibilities of using mobile technology.

Mobile technology is the future considering last July there are 3.3 billion mobile subscribers in the world. People in Third World and developing countries are starting to use mobile phones to connect to the world. These people will not have own laptops, cars or homes, but they will have TV and mobile phones.

I'm still consolidating the minutes from the the unconference, and pray that we can have some baby steps to see Virtually-Led Movement in the Campus Ministry of CCC.

Trying Out This Blog To Update My Ministry

Dear Friends & Supporters,

I'm experimenting another way to update my ministry in CCC other than emails. Hope you can catch my ministry reports, especially for those who are newly added to my mailing list.

Hope to rope in Irene's updates here as well so that you can start to know her and pray for us as a couple. And You may have guessed my blog main banner title's "IQ In Action" means Irene & Qingwen in action.

Thanks for visiting this site and please continue to lift us up in prayers.
